I think my most valuable books are Fahrenheit 451 (signed) Something Wicked This way comes (Signed) and of course Bradbury Stories hardcover with (2 signautres in the same book) this was an accident and I made Ray sign it again, cause I didnt see the first signautre when I bought it. I'm pretty sure, Im the only one in the world with Bradbury Stories that has 2 signautres in it. idk if that makes it more valuable or less. Question though, so I found an old book in my grandmas attic, it's call the Sackkets by Louis Lamour, its a volume of the first 3 novels. Now I know collections are rarely worth a lot. But the question pertains to that. for instance I just looked up Huey P. Newton's Revoultionary Suicide and the first edition is like over 150, obviously not as much as Tom Sawyer first edition... but is there any easy way to tell if a collection or a first printing is worth a damn, while going through Used book store shelf, from like the 70s and further back? Cause if a collection is worth 20 bucks but the orginal novel itself is 50 bucks. thats still not worthless to buy. I know you say Hey collect what you like, I agree but there comes that time where you say Damn I love this Novelist, but I got no First Editions of him (or her. Do you always stay with first editions or do you sometime get the collection ? Or both.

I used to read his blog many years ago. He was sort of exploring the city walking for hours and hours and giving reports with photos and some interesting stories or blurbs. It was like 3 to 6 photos a day. He took great photos with his phone. And we were taking the journey with him without so much time or effort as he put into it. Really it was a travel log about the city history, sometimes obscure interesting history and the markers he found of that history. It was not so much about him. It was not so much about any people he met along the way. I can't believe he is not finished yet, some things take longer than you think they will.

Young made the aesthetically wise choice to focus mainly on purveyors specializing in rare books or niche subjects. Some are inveterate collectors themselves. One bookseller gives a tour of his warehouse in New Jersey, where 300, 000 volumes share space with taxidermied sea gulls and a masonic throne. Two emotional currents run through the documentary. The gloomier one involves the older booksellers who have seen their business transform, especially with the advent of the internet and then, within the last 10 years, the proliferation of smartphones. But the younger people in this film are not only hopeful but enthusiastic. (There’s a frustrating lack of identifying captions onscreen — a puzzling stylistic choice that’s also ironic, given all the anxiety about the printed word. ) This new generation testifies that a long overdue diversification is beginning finally to take place.
